You know I used to like winter. When I was younger… heck until I stopped being a student on campus. Now it is at best it is annoying and an inconvenience. At worst it is dangerous…
The other day (tuesday) I was leaving my car at a parking lot (one a bit away from the HAB building where I work). There is a decent slope on the path between the lot I parked in, and the lot next to my building (20 degrees I would say at the worst point). I was walking along there, noting the horrible job of shovelling that was done, and realizing it was very slippery. I took small almost baby steps at the worst areas hoping to not slip, but to no avail. Slipped, fell onto my back and slid down the hill. Got the wind knocked out of me pretty badly, but nothing broken thankfully. Sprained my wrist pretty bad though.
Now today, more snow coming. I’m supposed to go to the Allergist in Poughkeepsie, but not sure if they’ll close early (or if I’ll even want to go there tonight). Still have to call and check. Oh well. At least if I do end up there, I’ll get to have some Quiznos. Too bad they don’t have one in New Paltz.

Eh… Quiznos always seem to leave some strange after taste. I’m not liking them as much as I used to.
snow is great for lazy neighbors who hide dog poo under it until spring. those quiznos commercials were disturbing. those things looked like chicken sock puppets. snow is neat because when it has just fallen, you can see trails in it where the moles have been crawling. fresh snow makes you realize just how much foot traffic there is in a given spot, something you never think about in the summer. a dell is a small wooded valley. i heard you didn’t slip and fall but that you were having a heated shoving match about social security reform with that republican co worker who builds fast cars…but you won and now he owes you a smoothie.
Thanks for the idea about hiding dog poo, Evan. Unfortunately, a dog I have not. A dell is also a type of computer. Evan, you ought to be a writer. Try writersblock.com. Paul – what school do you go to? Sorry to intrude on your blog… I’m at work and we have an incredibly invasive internet filter and I can only get sites with no ads (i.e. like 2)… and yours is one of them. Have a nice day
